Initially, StreetScooter was pretty much just one thing for the network: a technology platform on which network partners could demonstrate and test their technologies. So, for all network partners, StreetScooter was always more than a project.

Through collaboration, the individual components of the network partners could be tested in the overall system. With StreetScooter, the customer could quickly be presented with a first reference vehicle and the openness to new solutions led the way to numerous innovations. In general, the transparency of specifications and technical interfaces was a motivator for many partners to participate in StreetScooter. Interface information that is normally closed off in the vehicle was disclosed.
